Give us a call and let us help you realize your dream log home!                                    Lynn Gastineau, President Tip of the Week: Financing land or land and home construction:  A residential mortgage broker will not typically loan on raw land.  A bank, credit union or the Farm Credit System may be an option.  Some sellers or land developers will offer seller financing.  Some lenders do not lend on homes on large parcels of land.  In that case, it may be necessary to have one to three acres surveyed and have the home and that property as a separate deed.  This can be very helpful later even though it may cost a few hundred dollars to have the survey completed.  It does not affect your ownership of either parcels of property and would allow you to sell the home but keep the land if necessary.
