To All Builders: After developing successful relationships with builders all around the country since 1977, we have learned some things. All of us at Gastineau Log Homes know that it requires teamwork and cooperation between us and the builder to ensure that we have a happy and satisfied client.  We will do everything within our power to give you the information and training needed to properly construct our homes.  As a log home manufacturer, we need to assist our customers in their search for a builder in two ways: providing them with the names and contact information of builders providing training and support for those builders. We accomplish #1 above by providing our customers with a GLH Builder List.  There are two groups of builders on this list.  Group A are builders that have built one of our homes and have completed a Quality Assurance Visit.  Group B is a list of builders that have not built one of our homes but have completed a GLH Builder or GLH Construction Seminar.  After they have built a home and completed our Quality Assurance Visit, they are moved into Group A. We accomplish #2 above in a variety of ways.  These include: Frequent “Builder Only” Construction Seminars.  These 1 1/2 day seminars are free of charge and only builders are invited to attend.  The focus is on specific log construction details.  Critical bidding information is also provided. Six yearly “Construction Seminars.”  These 2 day seminars are also free to builders.  Builders and consumers attend these seminars.  There is more emphasis on the kit materials, options and delivery in this seminar than the builder seminar. Construction Manual:  a very detailed yet easy to read manual is available.   A Toll Free Service number is available to you to ask any questions that may come up before or during the construction of the home. The director of our Design and Engineering department is a Mo. licensed engineer and can answer any specific engineering questions.  He has been a builder, also. Quality Assurance Visit:  We come to each job site during construction to make sure that the home has been built in accordance with our plans and construction manual.  We provide a written report to you and the homeowner assuring them that you have properly constructed the home. The construction of a speculative log home is another way to begin building log homes.  GLH has a special “spec home program” available to qualified builders where you delay payment of the kit, which saves you construction interest and puts more money in your pocket.  Many people would like to live in a log home, but don’t want to go through the “hassle” of finding land, picking a builder, etc.  If they had the choice of a log home to move into, they would choose it over a stick frame construction.  Just ask a Realtor how long log homes stay on the market!   Our “Avalanche” program was developed for high volume builders and developers in lieu of our standard dealer program.
